exactly, I go into more detail on that here. I just didn't want to type an entire dissertation, so I left it at the basics for the initial comment. socialization is the process of learning norms and values. the lessons I took away from my upbringing were different than those my cis boy peers did.

And even in the very narrow scope that they focus on it still ignores that a trans woman growing up as a "boy" isn't going to have the socialization experiences as a cis boy.

a lower class Black cis girl from Queens is going to have a vastly different socialization experience to an upper class white cis girl from London, for example. reducing all of socialization to a simple "male/female" binary is not only lacking nuance, it's just wrong. we cannot cede ground on this.
