Hell yeah. Great news. Parts of Cedar Ave along that stretch are literally death traps (you won’t go more than a few blocks without seeing a flower memorial to a pedestrian killed by a vehicle). More of this please!

In response to overwhelming feedback that people want traffic calming and more pedestrian friendly Cedar Ave, the County is proposing removing two stop lights and replacing them with flashing crosswalk lights.

One of these, at the 40th Street Bike Boulevard, only changes when someone on bike or foot presses the beg button. It is the only controlled intersection East of 35W for the bike blvd. The west side is a protected lane with many stop lights and safer crossings.
