ugh, yeah. I’ll never forget when a man I used to respect said he and his wife rehomed their adopted daughter from Tanzania because she was “aggressive” towards their biological daughters. and I was like oh, so you never thought of her as your real daughter I guess huh

Never lost respect for a couple faster than when they rehomed a child. They were adults. They had time and a long process to decide sooner. They rug pulled that poor kid and went on about their lives.

I have always felt this AND that my APs, in particular, because the “bought” me didn’t know how to interact with me in any way that wasn’t transactional. I don’t expect this to be true of all APs but it is for a lot we are an investment and they are always waiting for that ROI

Not adopted but nothing radicalized me more than the time I wanted to write a story about an orphan. Had to research what that looks like in the US. The way people talk about children in this country is so disgusting I literally could not continue my research without feeling physically sick
