-under IFRS rules the VF must count valuation changes as income because its primary biz is investing, and SB must incorporate that income in its books because the VF is a consolidated subsidiary..there is no better accounting method given the current rules https://t.co/4kRO5a4lLN

Explain to people that US GAAP likely doesn't care which department's budget you charge as long as it goes to the right account, and stop scheduling meetings with me about it because I'm not getting involved. That may be some PTSD from my time in technical accounting

Why can't you guys just move to IFRS? Also - FASB does US GAAP, Canadian GAAP was very different in approach. Luckily even though I've worked at multiple dual listed companies I never had to deal with the difference. Also, also... MLB has its own accounting standards.
