ein verkehrsystem das auf den maximalen durchsatz von autos ausgelegt ist, braucht ampeln damit die fußgänger nicht stören. ansonsten müssten verkehrsteilnehmer bei kreuzungen immer aushandeln wäre wann fährt oder geht, das bremst die autos und macht sie relativ nutzlos.
