There was a monk begging for alms. This is a practice called "takuhatsu." It is an important practice in which one lets go of attachment to food, clothing and shelter, and entrusts one's life to others. When my daughter and I put money in the monk's bowl, he smiled and rang a bell for us. #仏教 #托鉢

Among Sumiyoshi Shrine's sub-shrines, I felt a wonderful energy at Amatsu Shrine. This shrine enshrines Izanaki-Okami, the god of matchmaking, good fortune and warding off disasters. The moment I put my hands together, I felt like my heart was purified, and tears came to my eyes.
