I genuinely believe the, "AI could wipe out humanity" thing is something they're promoting because it sounds sexy, powerful, and dangerous. They don't want to share the truth that AI is a complete nonstarter of stolen art, language models telling you you're a good boy, and wildly inaccurate data.
