there's a lotta factors; I swear it's not a gatekeeping woe-is-me thing. taking off so much time for work in Jan isn't great (that's why when MAG is late Jan I cant go), i live in snow country Upstate NY so 4ft of snow could dump on us, & i'm worried theyre gonna start a BADGE lottery at this rate

this has always been THE event to see lotsa far away friends for the last decade but the crapshoot for literally everything now has drained me so much. it always was pretty stressful but I'm currently not planning on returning. The badges selling out in mere hours has really bummed me out.
