One of the more frustrating aspects of engaging in AI policy is that many things about the internet or technology in general have been suddenly thrust into the spotlight due to AI, and people instinctually rally against them without any regard for the collateral damage.

Did you know it’s pretty easy to programmatically access ACL Anthology data? For example, here’s a snippet you could use to get the BibTeX entries for all of your papers. The downside is that the initial fetching of the data takes quite long atm, but it can still be useful for automation!

This was fun! One question was: if LLMs do hypotheses, experiments, writeups & reviewing - what remains for scientists? @robysinatra.bsky.social & @iaugenstein.bsky.social's take was 'steering the direction'. But imho the kinds of papers where that's possible just won't stay publishable for long
