The Russian MinFin is denying that they were considering to introduce an excise tax on sweets. Earlier RBK published a document that was part of the discussion on the 2027 budget that shows evidence they were considering the move.

It is nice of them to let us know that they will impose an excise tax on sweets. All that is left unknown is how soon and how much.

Something to add that as long as Russian analytical centers keep saying that the Baltic can ship more grain the Kremlin will not do anything to unblock the Black Sea route and small and mid sized Russian farmers will continue to be bankrupt by the big grain traders.

The Russian organization the People's Farmer are complaining that all the railway subsidies go not to farmers but to the resellers and grain traders and are using this to force small and medium farmers to sell at 7 000 rubles when costs to produce is 12-13 000 rubles.
