My cat has been sick, which has made me feel so terrible and anxious, I can hardly function. She's 19.5 years old and has been with me forever. I fear we're nearing the end and I love her so much. A fundamental problem with "oh it's useful for coding" is that "generating more software faster" has, if anything, negative marginal utility in itself. The world is not suffering from a software shortage. The world is suffering from a software quality crisis, which LLMs seem more likely to worsen.
