I had always wanted them to be illegal because actually harming kids is disgusting. If it turns out FSM helps and reduces actual kid harm, then I’m ok with them being legal. I am very skeptical of claims that kids harm is reduced by FSM and so far I haven’t seen a green light yet.

You’re right though - I asserted above that FSM makes it more likely someone will offend and the research doesn’t show that yet. (My assertion was based on older studies which have since been clarified…..but I wasn’t up on them. Thanks for correcting me and pointing me in the right direction!)

"Supports non-offending pedophiles" is meaningfully different from "supports pedophiles" in a way that's effectively misleading. If a right-winger said they support trans people who want to detransition, summarizing that as "supports trans people" would be inaccurate enough to be a lie.
