About a month ago I was showin some of my art to a coworker and he said "I can really see the influence of chiaroscuro artists like caravaggio on your work" and I got so excited someone finally noticed I didn't know what to say.

I'll never quite understand why sone artists get upset when someone says "this reminds me of <other thing>" cuz i feel we should be happy when someone's able to identify our influences. Even if the worry is someone copying your style, I don't get it. You're not Disney. You can't own a style.
