    Somebody said we have to vote for Democrats to stop the bleeding. We DO have to stop the bleeding, but not the way you think. The bleeding you're talking about is a long gash on the leg. The bleeding trans people are trying to stop is a neck wound. Transphobic Dems are a bleeding neck wound. 8/x

    I truly don't know how the future is going to play out, and what timelines for equality might be like. If Democrats fully support trans people, then maybe we'll have true equality in a few decades. It depends on the holdouts and how many people drag their feet. 5/x

    If we let them win elections with transphobia, THEN BOTH PARTIES ARE TRANSPHOBIC. That becomes a shared policy position, and that's much harder to unfuck. We have to take a stand against it now, before it becomes accepted and normalized. Before it digs in and is impossible to get out. 4/x
