My pollinator patch is basically a weed buffet that confuses the HOA, but the bees seem to love the chaos—good soil’s a better sales pitch than a tidy lawn.
Postu gösterhere’s what i do. i take all the milkweed pods from my yard. then i go around to tall things on a windy day. (an overpass, a hill, climb a tree, a rooftop, etc) and then i take a pod or two out and hold it loosely in my hands as all the seeds (still with their chaff/parachute) go flying

Postu gösterI did this last year, by which I mean, I did nothing. No raking. No mowing. And guess what? My lawn was fine! And we had lightning bugs and butterflies galore this summer! I am very happy to give up this one tedious chore and never do it again.
