There is only one state where young voters are not more liberal: West Virginia. If only voters under 45 voted, even Missouri, Montana, Utah and Arkansas would be blue. www.nytimes.com/interactive/... It’s only Wyoming, Idaho, Kentucky, N. & S. Dakota and maybe Oklahoma that are still a contest.

Millennials don’t remember a world without the Civil Rights Act. Zoomers don’t remember a world without gay marriage or the ADA. Gen Alpha is watching Mamdani’s name fix potholes around the world. All of us watched the backlash to those wreck our economy & institutions. Things will be different.

Apart from @jamellebouie.net, the pundit class is completely out of touch with voters under 45. Politics are going to swing dramatically to the left over the next twenty years, and I don’t think any part of the political ecosystem is prepared.

On the one hand this is true, on the other if a party recovers from a midterm hammering it's because they try to change course and Republicans seem incapable of that.
