    Thus you get a situation where Douthat poses a rhetorical question without even really processing that it's a rhetorical question, and assumes his opponent doesn't have an answer because, well, "the opponent has a response" does not exist Online (this goes for this website too, mind)

    basically douthat should just say "i think opposition to aipac is driven by antisemitism" but instead he sidetracks himself by bringing up, unprompted, the saudi comparison, which falls completely flat when AES can just go "my dude look at the spending in my race, where is the saudi money"

    The Saudis invested $10-12B in the Skydance merger and are now partners in CNN, CBS, two movie studios, and multiple streaming and cable platforms. They work from the top, AIPAC on a local voter level.

    I think all of the talk about Democrats needing to find a leading candidate or figure with bro energy was wildly overblown and undersupported, but they did get one in the end, and he's on the left. So that's nice.
