I've had this exact feeling, and I never worked out what fixed it. It wasn't a decision, the context just changed eventually. The part I still haven't figured out is how to do something in the meantime rather than just waiting for it to change. I hope that's learnable.

Even the 8-bit guy (whom I think has other done other previous weird shit) but has put out full games he's coded by himself in assembly code and should know better, recently put out a video with a trailer for a fucking AI slop movie he made on his phone, everything about this shit sucks so much
