In 2024, Kuwahara-Vu-Saito proved that lattice bosons have the peculiar Lieb-Robinson velocity v ~ t^{dim-1} in an impressive 100+ pages of detailed estimates. Today, with Alex Elgart, we posted a shorter 15-page proof, inspired by the Chen-Lucas path expansion arxiv.org/abs/2611.02263

We need sociology of maths studies on who exactly is afraid to be put out of business by AI. I read someone on P&P (not Austen, the new one) saying that AI is better than them at both research and writing and I am left wondering.

Yes, I am now curious about which mathematicians are worried about being about being put out business by AI, and why: do they believe that AI will be better, do they believe the world is unfair, etc.

What was incorrect about my statement? Are saying my "some" should be "most"? I don't think most pure mathematicians think of research as a game of winning prizes. But I don't know which pure mathematicians I know are "mainstream".

While some pure mathematicians are loudly worrying about being put out of business by AI, applied mathematicians aren't feeling this angst. Applied math isn't about typing a precise question into a machine and having a Lean-verified answer pop out. (Neither is pure math, but some think so.)
