    I get the appeal. The machines are small and cheap and they're very clean to use. That's why they're nearly standard issue in hotel rooms, B&Bs, holiday apartments etc. But so wasteful

    I do hate that you can read a press story, that links to another webpage, but once you dig down the actual research is behind a paywall so it's impossible to really understand the methodology or assumptions.

    I switched to an electric grinder and a normal puck. It just takes a few extra minutes to be your own batista. The only waste is grounds in the compost bin.
