Postu gösterAn Icelandic Redwing ssp coburni amongst the influx of 'winter thrushes' this month. I always think of them as being ' more Bournville than Cadbury' in overall colour against the nominate race Redwing ' Turdus illiacus illiacus that we most often encounter.
Postu gösterI was delighted to be asked to contribute a few illustrations to the Donegal Bird Report, excellently compiled by Derek Brennan . 2025 was an incredible year for rare and scarce birds in Donegal with several county and Irish firsts discovered. Postu gösterLong-billed Dowitcher at @harpersisland.bsky.social new for me there and 2012 last time I saw one😱 Saw regular birds at Ballycotton 1979 to 1983 at least fifteen times.
Postu gösterThe regular returning Yellow-legged Gull showed really well at times at the Cork Lough today. Interestingly, despite being a 7CY bird now, it's got some blackish markings on the bill.
