    I have reactivated my Bluesky after months entirely to share how absolutely fucking devastated and heartbroken I am about Patrick Stewart’s death from Alzheimer’s. He was an inspiration and role model to me in almost every way both on and off the stage and screen (we even share birthdays).

    Without very major and serious reform the US will just keep spiralling out of control politically. Limiting presidential power and making them legally accountable, making the judicial branch independent and apolitical, and even increasing the use of consensus or 2/.3 majority votes in the house.

    There is far too much money in American politics, too little regulatory oversight, little to no good methods for people to hold elected officials to account, and the two party majority system within the three branches of government is broken and results in a handful of people deciding everything.

    I'm glad Republican's lost a lot in the US midterms, but the fact that so many Americans still support Trump's presidency and those who prop him up is deeply troubling. At a fundamental level, none of this is fixed until the US massively overhauls its broken democratic and governance systems.
