  Yes. I’m grieving for the art, and all the joy and expression being swallowed up by a handful of greedy bastards. I’m grieving for the people without work or trapped in abusive workplaces. I’m grieving because we connect through art and play, and now we’re isolated, just trying to survive.

  It's a term I hadn't been able to put to name until now but that is what that is- grief. With all the requisite stages (but acceptance will be missing from there for me)

  Yes, very much so. I'm torn between waiting out a recovery and retraining while I'm still somewhat young... So many years of education and experience, but the infrastructure to support studios just isn't there anymore. Hard to conceive of the scale.

  I think this is the state I've been in since 2023. I spend half my time torn between grieving for the career I don't see happening and the other half trying to find the spoons to do art & game dev despite it but it's so hard after so many disappointments. 10 years of trying with no career is a lot.

  I’m not a game developer, but I’m almost 50 and an experienced professional and haven’t been able to find work since I was laid off 6 months ago. Almost 300 applications, 7 full interview processes, absolutely nothing to show for it. I believe this next week or two will be my last unemployment check
