I'm thrilled to know that so many kids are going to experience OoT for the first time through this remake and build the exact same lasting feelings that I have for the original. OoT is, and always was, such a beautiful game.
Postu gösterDon't get me wrong, I loved the remake and I'm only being so critical because I hold the source material to such a high standard (OoT is my favourite game aside from MM). There's a lot to love, but I don't want to pretend like I didn't have issues.
Postu gösterLast big gripe is that some areas feel like they got way more attention than others. GTG (or GPG now, I guess) and Trials are almost 1:1 identical to the original, and it felt like a completely missed opportunity to innovate. Other dungeons got much better treatment.
Postu gösterIt also felt like enemies can straight up ignore your damage and just cut right through you anyway, which isn't how most enemies worked in the original I know crouch stabs are a ridiculous crutch and I have to break that habit, but the combat didn't feel nearly as engaging to me
Postu gösterThis is probably a me problem because I'm so used to the original, but I struggled quite a bit with the combat in the remake. So many of the enemies feel ridiculously tanky (almost every boss/miniboss has noticably more health) and it kind of turned some fights into a slog
