    The Australian govt does the same. Problem is, it's difficult to end this stupid system without hurting vulnerable renters. We need to build more public housing first.

    Imagine the money saved by governments if folk were paid a living wage and had access to affordable housing? Why is it the taxpayer’s job to subsidise shitty wages and inflated private rents? This is just welfare for capitalists.
