The same sunset, a few minutes apart. Whatever ship we’re on, we tend to end up at the back of it around this time, watching the wake run all the way to the horizon. The sunsets are always one of the best bits of travelling by sea. 😍

If we can now pass laws that affect people retroactively then surely top of the priorities would be to demand back all the money that our privatised water companies paid out to shareholders from debt borrowed against the business and bonuses paid to CEOs for failure.

In fact it's more than nonsense ... it's absolutely anti-British. If the rules of fair-play mean anything then it means that you cannot change the rules to apply to people retroactively. Stuff going forward is fair game, going backwards is beyond the pale.

A country that makes retrospective legislation like this cannot be taken seriously. It means people cannot plan for the future ... imagine a world where the govt turn around and say yeah - income tax for 2016-17 onwards was this much, but now we want an additional 2% from everyone. It's nonsense.
