It’s not just an attack on trans people. It’s an attack on anyone who doesn’t fit within a narrowly defined vision of what gender looks like.

It is a level of bureaucratic cruelty that utterly decimates a whole group of people’s rights and puts anyone who doesn’t ‘look’ right in the eyes of others under constant surveillance. It’s a horrific thing.
