    My general plan is: 1. Finish v1, do a quick v2 to clean up, set it aside. 2. Once you're forgotten it, read it like a reader and fix big issues in v3: plot, character, tension, pace, voice. 3. Send to betas/agent/ed. 4. Get edit letter; go thru stages of grief. 5. Do a tough, honest v4. 6. Repeat.
