Where in the book does it say this? Ask any reader who hasn’t played the game if Astarion chose seduction as his hunting method because it’s easy or what he’s good at. Without the game context, that will 💯 be the takeaway because that’s what’s in the book that was published.
Postu gösterThat’s one time Cazador hurt Astarion by killing Sebastian. In the game, 𝑎𝑙𝑙 the sexual trauma that he describes is from being forced to “seduce anything with a pulse” and “use his body” to lure “pretty things” to their deaths. That is nowhere in this book. He just “is what he is”.
Postu gösterThe omniscient narrator telling you he dissociates during sex, the fact that he’s doesn’t have to role to resist the Incubus, rolling deception to tell Sebastian there was genuine attraction and asking the PC if they can pause sex while he works through his sex repulsion is not “my opinion”.
Postu gösterLOL. Anyway, T Kingfisher was an apologist for Neil Gaiman and the fauxpology makes me believe she never changed. Honestly I think a few YouTubers criticizing her Astarion book were a bit too restrained not bringing up that fact.
Postu gösterJust steer clear of that new Astarion book by J Kingfisher. It’s, uh… well, I’d accuse Volo of writing it, but that might be insulting to Volo
