That Lyoko Dork

@thatlyokofreak.bsky.social did:plc:qrnt7fom4shv5coyad5avfqe

Just some Chilean-American 20-something year old who is a fan of any animated media and a Code Lyoko fanatic. (and also other obscure shit)

    I love looney tunes very much but sometimes it feels like a cursed franchise and it especially feels like that now

    Last year I got emotional and watching TT Night Ghoulery because it felt like that level of quality and production value just wasn’t attainable, and yes, that there was another show currently airing with Plucky Duck in it, and he wasn’t played by Joe Alaskey

    With Daffy I’ll always miss him so much as that character too, and I love Jeff and Dee Bradley Baker and they’ve been able to create funny, great performances as him, but it felt like Bauza “stepped up to the plate” and brought life and energy into Daffy again that wasn’t there after Joe

    I know Bauza wanted to be associated with Bugs, it’s mostly crying Bugs fanart I’ve been seeing on my timeline, but his best character concretely was Daffy. Regardless of the writing in LTC, everyone carefully constructed a version of Daffy that was perfect no-notes perfect in TDTEBU.

    And for the record I think it’s the best he ever got as Bugs. But it feels like Daffy especially is adrift, again,without a performer that is firmly adept at portraying him and it’s going to feel so weird, and sad of course, seeing Daffy Season next week.
