    You’ve clarified that you oppose an apology. But “white guilt” and “saviour complex” are labels, not arguments. I’m asking Britain to acknowledge its own actions. Why does another country’s involvement in slavery make that acknowledgment pointless?

    As far as I can see your position is that because other countries also carried out slavery then this absolves all responsibility for Britain’s role in the slave trade. Is that your position?

    The analogy was about responsibility, not dividing the proceeds. Other people committing the same wrong doesn’t absolve Britain. I support an apology. You keep demanding that I defend a position I don’t hold.
