  I’m hoping that this Cambrian explosion of software can’t last forever and eventually will lead to a period of consolidation & collaboration again. I don’t have a terribly solid thesis for this other than: The demand for software will be saturated and why bother slop forking if what you want exists?

  I suspect this is true too people do, at the end of the day, want steady stability and long standing support and clear feature roadmaps and whatnot. we'll pick development teams we trust and align with our goals we went from a monopoly of a few to an explosion of hundreds, to a future of like, ten

  I was reading his site recently. When I got to the 'no good definition of an idea yet' assertion I tried making with one. It no doubt needs work but I think it's a good starting point: "An idea is an informational structure that maintains invariance upon distillation of any unique representation"

  The "AI turns off your brain" people sure seem to put a lot of importance into platforms making blanket, top down content decisions for them.
