    My real hot take about the Anakin fanfiction on Twitter is that it's precisely that. These people are not misreading the text, they're identifying with things that are plainly there, and then doing headcanon around it. It's just evil, blatantly fascist headcanon.

    You can talk about aggregation, you can talk about averaging, you can talk about whatever I do not think the methodology behind 2026 polling *can* be accurate. I think pollsters have kludged together reasonable guesses by fucking with demographic weights and making assumptions.

    We used to have telephone based polling in an era when like 60% of households would pick up a phone call and respond to a human pollster. And we were well aware of that system's limitations and inaccuracy. Now? It's like recruiting Candy Crush players with in-game rewards with 0.1% response rates
