  Martinelli's never been convincing as a striker, I'd much rather Merino, also is his drop in form really lack of confidence or simply reverting to type. I've always been a fan but he should have been sold in the summer.

  £68m over 3 years is not a big money fee for a quality player like Eze. We wasted £65m on Havertz. As for Odegaard just because he is captain doesn't guarantee him a starting place. His form dropped off a cliff last season

  As each hour passes I become more & more convinced that Eze's the better purchase. Half of the huge deals fail. Grealish the most recent example. In every case there was certitude by teams & fans that it would be a success...regardless of history. There are so many factors that could derail Rodrygo.

  Practically every potential issue that could be a problem for Rodrygo, wouldn't be for Eze. 1) New Country 2) New City 3) New Language 4) New League 5) Pressure of being Messiah 6) Physicality of Premiership 7) Pressure of entering locker room as biggest earner 8) Possible mentality of a "step-down"
