    With 250+ Dems in the house, that means more than 100 members could disagree with the final choice of speaker and we would simply have no way of knowing. All of that disagreement is hidden from public view.

    What this means is that any vote for a Democratic Speaker will *look* unanimous even if it isn't. Members cannot register their dissent publicly, they can only do so privately during the caucus meeting

    It is **crucial** to do this now because once a majority of Dems selects a speaker in their caucus meeting on Nov 18 and 19, EVERY SINGLE DEM is bound by that decision on the floor Jan 3 per Dem Caucus Rule 34.
