    Cause they’re white. Most white immigrants are unconcerned with ICE. They know privilege and fundamentally understand the necessity of elitism in privilege. Coming from Latin America doesn’t change the game— colonial imposed racism is the same whether spoken English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.

    Latinos fall into racial groups too— white, brown/mixed/Indigenous (Mestizo), Black (Afro-Latino)— and the Latinos facing ICE terrorism are not the white Latino population. For all intents and purposes, white Latinos who are here “the right way” align with conservatism and stricter borders. Why?

    People expect that Latino vote would magically resemble the Black vote but it’s actually resembling the white vote— this is lowkey the problem with conflating race and ethnicity in these metrics…
