    Another though is just the sobering point that the CW “Republican gerrymandering didn’t work” is wrong. Gerrymandering worked and state parties will keep doing it unless federal law or constitutional reinterpretation stops them.

    One way to interpret this is that the current US House still has an artificially high number of Republicans and after Texas is redistricted it will be even harder than it now looks for the GOP to retake it in 2028.

    I'd note this sentence arguably contains 3 additional false claims: 1. No-one automatically gets ILR. 2. No-one, least of all recent work migrants, gets "lifetime access" to housing. 3. The minus £10bn figure is for care workers/dependants. For all those eligible, the figure is *plus* £115 bn.
