Any guesses as to what was (supposedly) hit? I'm aware that the American submarine USS Runner may have gone missing sometime in June or July 1943, but it's unclear to me whether this could have happened anywhere near the Kusagaki Islands. #NavalHistory #WorldWar2
Postu gösterAccording to Senshi Sōsho 85 (Naval Operations in the Home Islands Area), on July 21, 1943, a Sasebo Naval Air Group seaplane bombed a surfaced submarine 60 nautical southwest of the Kusagaki Islands, landing two near misses. A search the next morning spotted oil on the surface of the water.
Postu gösterI forgot to translate it into English In Asia, there is a motif in which a monkey tames a horse; I wonder if this had also found its way to Russia.
Postu gösterThe former Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) had twelve destroyers named after clouds: Akigumo, Asagumo, Usugumo, Kazagumo, Shinonome, Shirakumo, Natsugumo, Makigumo, Minegumo, Murakumo, Yamagumo and Yuugumo. #NavalHistory
Postu gösterアジアでは猿が馬を飼いならすというモチーフがあるが、ロシアにも伝わっていたのだろうか。
