if your ttrpg looks like dnd, its osr if your ttrpg plays like dnd, its trad everything else is storygames
Postu gösterif i zone out and nothing has happened, it's trad. if i zone out and it's already over, it's osr. if i zone out and i cannot possibly figure out whats going on, its a storygame
Postu gösteri roll ten thousand dice to get +2 on my Flanking Sweep: trad i lose 2 HP and immediately die: osr i abandon the moral highground card and yield in my convictions to take three future badness tokens and advance my cringe track: storygame
Postu gösterif your combat system is ponderous and dull, your ttrpg is TRAD if your combat system is fast-paced and dull, your ttrpg is OSR if your combat system is fast-paced and inscrutable, your ttrpg is a STORYGAME
