Me to anyone waking up tomorrow planning on publishing a “crypto holdings need federally backed insurance” piece
Postu gösterLiterally beyond satire. The man does not have a valid passport, is wanted for serious crimes, is tied to drug traffickers, tried to rig his country’s elections, and will be interfering in that country’s elections from US soil. And we are giving him a visa while we deport ppl for paperwork gaffes
Postu gösterI mean, I don't think the story is particularly objectionable. NYT deserves plenty of knocks for what else they choose not to cover or push as hard, for sure, but the info they got about the inside story on this seems perfectly credible. I don't see any good reason they should have just sat on it.
Postu gösterLook, at the end of the day, America is fundamentally too large and chaotic (geographically, socially, religiously, politically) to be governable. That rowdiness is one of our greatest headaches, but arguably, it's what's saved our asses from the worst possible outcomes in the last decade.
Postu gösterThis is your reminder that the polls you interact with passively are likely the least representative polls. I spent the last few days analyzing what polling data is shared on Bluesky (at least from one source). The polls that are most Dem friendly are the ones that get shared the most.
