    Every time I criticized Dem leadership in the last year or so, some doofus has popped into my TL to explain to me (a person who has worked on Dem campaigns professionally, covered them, and has a degree in public policy studies and political science) that "now is not the time" to criticize any Dems

    These politics knowers subscribe to the (very strange, and disproven by history and empirical evidence) idea that pushing electeds to do their jobs has the effect of making people less politically engaged or makes the other party's candidates seem more attractive.

    They also seem to think that unity is about optics and not agreement, or negotiation. They view politics entirely as what happens at the ballot box, and elected officials as team mascots, and not, you know, the players who take direction from the electorate
