    So, down goes the burning liquid and medicine. Moral of the story: even if it looks like it probably isn't hot anymore, if you're about to take a first drink of a liquid that *was* hot, take a small sip first. 😉

    He comes and finds the thermos, lid off, and assumes that it has been sitting there for hours and is lukewarm. So, he takes a huge mouth full of piping hot chai! And where he might have ungracefully spit it back into the cup to save his mouth from burning, he'd also just popped a pill to swallow.

    Normally I make tea for myself and my husband first thing in the morning (6:00ish). I use a thermos for my husband, as he likely won't get to it for several hours. Yesterday, I made chai a little later in the morning, and was rushing at the end, leaving his thermos lid off.
