Postu gösterImportantly, this does not mean that Long COVID doesn't exist or that people aren't suffering. This is purely about identifying what precisely is causing symptoms.
Postu gösterIt seems likely that Long COVID is much less common than some people were concerned about. Also, there is some evidence here that some of the issues caused by Long COVID are much more short-lived than people were worried about
Postu gösterTo sum up: the study showed strong evidence that Long COVID exists, but it also seems to demonstrate that many of the negative outcomes that people ascribe to COVID-19 probably aren't caused by the virus.
Postu gösterIt's also not ideal that this is all looking at administrative data. That is, routinely collected insurance claims that do not reflect the totality of patient experience. That being said, most of the other studies looked at very similar datasets, so it's not the strongest critique imo.
