For #TombTuesday, the Earthen Long Barrow on Windover Hill, East Sussex. 5000 to 5500 yrs old. 70m long & 13m wide, occupying a false crest on the hill, blocking the approach from the west. Intact, showing no signs of looting. Part of a cluster of Neolithic barrows between Eastbourne & Lewes. 🏺

Chris revisited his 1993 book, with Clive Gamble, In search of the Neanderthals. Now 30 years on things are so much more complex. 🦣🏺
