"Within the very walls of Insein, nearly every ward found its own way to protest. After my release, I heard political prisoners across Myanmar observed the one year anniversary of the killings with more quiet acts of defiance"
Postu gösterTwo more things on Myanmar: @kitetalesmm.bsky.social published a diary entry from a journalist who was imprisoned who describes the day the Junta executed political prisoners. kite-tales.org/en/article/d... then Myanmar activists were at the UNHRC, listen to Thinzar Shunlei Ye closing speech 12/
Postu gösterThis is really a worth while entry in @kitetalesmm.bsky.social Lovely short piece that captures a lot about food, comfort, memory, survival & more.
Postu gösterSuch an evocative diary from a @kitetalesmm.bsky.social fellow living in a war torn area in Myanmar, who had to cross into Thailand for a taste of home. “This makes things bearable,” he tells me, gesturing to the pork tray as if it were a life raft. “For some, things have become impossible.”
Postu gösterIn the latest piece from @kitetalesmm.bsky.social La Pyae, a former political prisoner, describes the waiting outside prison like many others on one of the Junta's infamous "prisoner releases" it carries out on major holidays. www.kite-tales.org/en/article/p... #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar
