I think indulgences is definitely the right word here - the historical parallel is the medieval Catholic Church selling them
Postu gösterI fear that both in England and the United States there were smaller shifts, some more justifiable than others, towards using pardons as a form of immunity and/or for symbolic purposes. The main difference with Trump is the sheer scale of these indulgences.
