    We’re just getting started, Florida. 🔥 We broke Republican supermajorities. We won seats despite racist, gerrymandered maps. We flipped races up and down the ballot that the political establishment had written off. And we showed the entire country what people power can accomplish in Florida.

    My main deal here is: NO MEANINGFUL CONSEQUENCES = permission. We can protect people from harm & not give harm-doers carte blanche. What the form of consequences & accountability will take will vary. DOING NOTHING IS NOT THE MOVE. We protect those who need it & stop *rewarding* harm. At the least.

    Sometimes CONSEQUENCES are: No cushy consulting gig, no visiting professorship or fellowship or invites to hot parties. Nobody likes you & they make that clear socially. No magazine articles & fancy photo shoots. No heading a foundation. Maybe they worry about lawyer bills & depositions instead.

    What I learned from talking to experts on holding people to account is: There is no 1 path. I'm not going to tell other people or communities what to do. But those allegedly on "our" side who do nothing to hold anyone to account? NO CONSEQUENCES can be no more opportunities for power & influence
