I’m a progressive but I really dislike the “abolish police” phrase. It’s so damaging. When there’s a literal murder just down the street from me where i regularly pass to run errands, I don’t think just having social workers is a solution. I want the shooters found and arrested.

Yeah another responder pointed to some decent evidence. Although included was the fact that some weren’t even recording. Whatever the solution is, I do want police to be better about catching people who shoot other people. Idk how to get there, but it’s not good when the perpetrators get away.

The same black and brown communities that overwhelmingly seem to be in favor of the shot spotter? I live in an area where I occasionally hear gunshots and there are homocides within a 6 block radius. I would like better police response times.
