    The Earth and Moon orbit a common midpoint between their gravitational masses, but that common point lies about 1400 miles below Earth's crust. So it's a normal planet/moon relationship. With Pluto and Charon, that common point is in the space between them, outside of either body.

    Kids these days will never know what it was like, hearing Evanescence “Bring Me To Life” on the radio. Evanescence won the 2004 Grammy for best Hard Rock Performance, I’d memory serves.

    100%. Pluto is the jam. It's just not a planet, and I've come to accept that.

    I've always understood that a planet must orbit a star directly, and that the moon fails that test. That's actually another knock against Pluto, as it and Charon orbit a common middle point. I love Pluto, but I've come to terms with its dwarf-planet status.
