    Me: so you're telling me you accepted a transfer from [sister hospital]. you know we don't have any ICU beds, right? We are negative in the ICU beds. We have 6 ER holds for ICU. Surgeon: this is why I don't tell you about my transfers! you NEVER let me do ANYTHING.

    We did actually have to get Isaiah back in to see the patient because he was getting to be inconsolable. 😔 Today it was a patient waking up wailing for the circulator in recovery "Where's J? He's still here? I like that guy!!"

    I love when patients wake up from anesthesia absolutely enamored with a random staff member they met for 5 minutes before surgery. Yesterday it was the PA and my sweet old man patient woke up saying "where's Isaiah... Did he close? Is he going to see me before I go? Can I say bye?"
